FIDH Position Paper
To the United Nations General Assembly
At its 64th Session
October 2009

INTRODUCTION
In this Position Paper, the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) documents the
priorities it believes the General Assembly (GA) th session, and in particular the Third at its 64
Committee on Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs, and the Sixth Committee on Legal
Affairs, should not fail to firmly act upon.

Justice

The weight of each GA resolution has a unique significance and legitimacy because the GA is the
only organ of the United Nations in which all member nations have equal representation.
