THIS JUST ARRIVED FROM A VERY COURAGEOUS FRIEND IN TEHERAN

First hand news of the gathering around Neda's grave at Beheshteh Zahra cemetery 5:15 local Tehran time:

1. Some 3,000 people managed to get through to Beheshteh Zahra to commemorate the 40th day after the murder of Neda despite great efforts of the authorities to stop them.

2. Many persons were beaten and several dozens were arrested.

3. Mr. Mousavi was not allowed to participate. Eye witness reports state that upon arrival he was immediately picked up and bundled off in a car to so far unknown destination.

4. Mr Karroubi was insulted and jostled and there was a struggle between his supporters and the plain clothes regime thugs.

5. Many other prominent figures were also dtained and taken away.
